OUR STORY

Pastor Pete, his son Josh, and his “Buck of a Lifetime,” as he called it. 2012, Urbana County, OH.

We understand some things are worth celebrating—especially our faith, our families, and the great outdoors. Super Buck exists to help outdoorsmen grow in their relationship to God and to their families.

The name “Superbuck” traces back to Pastor Pete, who served as the pastor of a small church in Michigan. Pastor Pete had a heart for unsaved men. A life-long hunter (though by all accounts a terrible fisherman), he decided to host a game dinner to celebrate God’s creation and to give men an opportunity to hear about the Lord. Since the event was so close to the Super Bowl, he would jokingly refer to it as “Super Buck.” The name stuck. Word spread and each year the event got a little bigger, as hundreds would come to eat great food, hear a message from a Christian outdoorsman, and get the chance to win some awesome outdoor gear. Pastor Pete continued hosting Super Buck events each year until he was no longer physically able to continue. Many men gave their lives to Christ during these years.

His son Josh, also a pastor and avid outdoorsman, decided to bring SuperBuck to the Western Kansas area. The goal remains the same: we want to encourage outdoorsmen to have a relationship with the amazing God who created the world around us.
